UDA has released a series of updates to ConstructionOnline’s Requests for Information (RFI) Tracking feature that further enhances its accessibility and usability. ConstructionOnline Users will now find additional messaging added to the RFI creation modal that provides further clarity on the different options available for creating RFIs. With the updated system logic, users are directed to use the “Create RFI & Send Emails” button if they wish to trigger notification emails by:
- A popover reading “Please be aware this will only save but not send emails” when mousing over the “Create RFI” button and
- A system message appearing after the “Create RFI” button is selected that informs users email notifications have not been triggered and directs them on how to send emails if they wish
This additional messaging works to ensure that users understand how to trigger notification emails for RFIs so that communication remains open and project teams stay informed. In addition to these usability updates, UDA has revised Company Employee “Can View” RFI permissions so that Company Employee Users can enter a Response to an RFI to which they are associated. With this update, Company Employee Users can now reply to RFIs that have been sent directly to them (“To”) or assigned to them (“Assigned To”). Company Employees will continue to be able to view but not reply to RFIs that they have been CC’d on.
As a primary component of ConstructionOnline’s dynamic document management for construction projects, RFI Tracking is known for helping construction companies request & receive information as needed to keep jobs running on schedule - bringing an enhanced level of transparency & accountability to construction communication.
