ConstructionOnline™ has introduced a new enhancement to its file management system, giving users the ability to sort files by file size across multiple file-based features. This update provides users with greater control and clarity when managing and organizing project documents—making it easier than ever to locate large files, manage storage, and streamline access to essential resources.
Smarter File Management with File Size Sorting
Users can now sort files by file size using an updated Sort By dropdown available throughout ConstructionOnline's file interface. When selected, files are organized in ascending or descending order based on size, following a familiar logic akin to the Windows file explorer.
Key aspects of the new functionality include:
- Folders are excluded from file size calculations but remain visible—placed either at the top or bottom of the list based on the selected sort direction.
- Folders continue to be sorted alphabetically within their group, providing a consistent and intuitive navigation experience.
- Sorting by size applies to only the current view or folder level, ensuring users see exactly what’s relevant in context.
- The active sort preference is preserved as users navigate into and out of folders and will automatically re-apply when accessing file features in future sessions.
Expanded Availability Across the Platform
The new file size sort option is now available in all key ConstructionOnline locations where files are managed, including:
- Company Files
- Trash
- My Files
- All Files (within both Projects and Opportunities)
- ClientLink™ Files
- TeamLink™ Files
This latest update further solidifies ConstructionOnline’s position as the industry’s leading platform for centralized project documentation, offering users powerful tools for managing project data efficiently and effectively.
